Medina High school is a co educational, 13 - 19, mixed comprehensive school with Specialist Arts Status, situated on the Isle of Wight that is going to be oversubscribed in September and subsequently is looking to recruit qualified, ambitious and enthusiastic teachers.
Medina has recently under gone a full OfSTED Inspection and has been described as “An improving school with good Sixth Form provision".
Mr Maurice Smith, one of the country’s Chief Inspectors of Schools, made the following positive comment after visiting Medina High School in May 2006:
“I found their (students) attitude to their education to be very positive and I would say the same about the Headteacher and the staff. They seem absolutely determined to improve the performance of the youngsters."
The school has excellent facilities: there is a public leisure centre on site which the school has full use of during the school day. We have excellent Creative Arts facilities that include a 450 seat theatre, a ‘black box’ drama studio, recording studio, music technology and graphics ICT suites. Our brand new, Hi tech Mathematics and ICT centre opened in September 2008.
In addition to the above, we are fortunate to host the Isle of Wight Rock Festival: having a world class international music event on our doorstep brings enormous benefits in developing creativity in our young people.
