EXAMS ADVICE

In the event of an emergency…

School contact     number:

If you are unable to attend your exam:

If you are too ill to come in, or if you have suffered a bereavement or other family emergency, please try and let the school know. In some cases, depending on the circumstances, if you have completed enough of the assessment the exam board may be prepared to issue you a grade.

IN ALL CASES YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE WRITTEN EVIDENCE SUCH AS A LETTER FROM YOUR PARENT/CARER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

Please do not wait until the day of your exam to notify the school if you are suffering from a contagious illness or have injured your writing arm/hand; let us know as soon as possible.

If you are going to be late for your exam:

PLEASE NOTIFY THE SCHOOL AS SOON AS YOU CAN THAT YOU ARE RUNNING LATE.

If the buses are delayed, the school will usually be informed by the bus contractor that there is a problem. We will delay the start of the exam for as long as allowed until the buses have arrived.

If you are late for any other reason, get in to school as quickly as possible. Depending on the circumstances, the exam board may be prepared to accept your exam paper even if you are late.

If you arrive after the start time of your exam, please SWITCH OFF YOUR MOBILE PHONE AND WAIT IN RECEPTION AFTER YOU HAVE SIGNED IN. YOU MUST BE SUPERVISED BY AN ADULT AND MUST NOT WANDER AROUND THE SCHOOL ON YOUR OWN. If your parent/carer has brought you into school, they should stay with you until you are escorted to your exam.

If you feel unwell during an exam:

Let the invigilators know; they may be able to move you to a seat where you feel more comfortable. If you are not able to continue, we will still submit your paper to the Exam Board and they will decide whether to mark it. Please be aware that there are exam regulations which may prevent you leaving an exam early.
