Sexual Behaviours Survey

We have been provided a survey by the Isle of Wight Safeguarding Children Board (IOWSCB)

The link is to a short anonymised survey, which needs to be completed by young people living here on the Isle of Wight. The aim is to find out what they think the prevailing attitudes and beliefs of young people are, regarding relationships and sexual behaviour on the IOW.

The survey is made up of 12 questions; These questions particularly relate to the legal definition of a child, their understanding of sex and the law and what kind of future services young people would like to access, when in need of advice and support regarding relationships and sexual health.

We have recently surveyed adults; parents/carers and professionals on the isle of Wight regarding the same issues, to identify their attitudes and beliefs. By surveying young people too, the IOW LSCB can help to highlight the key differences in the attitudes and beliefs of adults and young people, to help shape the development of education, support and future services, in a way which benefits both young people and the adults supporting them. Findings may also result in joint working or a project here on the island, involving both young people and adults.
