GCSE Examinations:

Travel arrangements during the Festival period

The one-way system on Fairlee Road starts at 11.00am on Wednesday 12th June and returns to normal on Monday 17th June. PLEASE ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO GET TO THE COLLEGE ON TIME AND REMEMBER THE ONE WAY TRAFFIC SYSTEM DURING THE FESTIVAL PERIOD AND THE PROBABILITY OF HIGHER SECURITY.

Please note, Medina College will be closed on Friday 14th June for a staff development day and no school buses will be running.  However, the College will be open to those students taking exams. There is one exam on Friday 14th June: GCSE Science in the morning.  STUDENTS MUST MAKE THEIR OWN WAY TO SCHOOL. Students who have a bus pass for travel to and from school will need an ‘Out of Hours’ pass to use Southern Vectis public buses on Friday 14th June.  Students can obtain an ‘Out of Hours’ bus pass from Mrs Holmes in the Year Office up until 3.30pm on Thursday 13th June and MUST SHOW THEIR CURRENT VALID BUS PASS.  If your child does not have an ‘Out of Hours’ bus pass, please ensure they have sufficient money for bus fares.

STUDENTS MUST CONTACT THE SCHOOL IMMEDIATELY FOR ADVICE IF THEY KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO BE LATE (01983 526523).

Reminder:
All students are required to attend in full school uniform with the correct equipment (students can bring a bottle of water with them into the exam room, as long as it has no label attached).

Mobile phones are banned by the exam boards and if they go off, even if they are in a bag away from the student, it will likely result in the disqualification of the child for disturbing an exam. All phones must be switched off, not on silent, switched off.
