Welcome to this week’s parent and carer update.
It has been a fantastic first full week at Medina. Students have returned with a positive attitude to their learning and have settled quickly into the routines of the new academic year.
Our Year 7 students are growing in confidence and already feel very much part of the Medina community. Yesterday, they enjoyed a brilliant team-building day at PGL and returned to school today full of stories, new experiences and new friendships. We will share a full write-up in next week’s newsletter, but in the meantime, please keep an eye on our social media and website for photos and updates.
We have also visited our first primary school of the year as we begin preparations for our Open Evening on 22 October, welcoming Year 6 students and their families who are considering Medina for September 2027.
We are particularly proud to see students embracing our school values of Ambition, Courage, Confidence and Kindness. These are increasingly visible in their everyday interactions, choices and attitudes towards one another and their learning.
As you will be aware, we introduced a change to our mobile phone expectations at the start of this academic year. Thank you for your support so far; we will be sharing a short reminder of these expectations with families shortly.
Finally, students in Years 7 and 11 have their school photographs on Monday. Please ensure they arrive looking smart and wearing the correct school uniform.
