Welcome to the final update for this half term.
I would like to start by focusing on our Year 11 students. Today, during their Leavers Assembly, we celebrated their time at Medina College. Although I have only been part of the end of the current chapter, it has been great to get to know the journey that they have been on and where many of them are moving to next.
As a year group, they have fully embraced the exam season and have many of the core exams behind them now. There is still more to achieve and focus on, but the routine is now well underway.
Year 9 have been busy discussing their options choices with some of our school leaders in review meetings. Thank you to all of the students for demonstrating such maturity in this process.
Yesterday we had great fun raising money for the Year 11 Prom by 'Sponging the teacher'. Well done to everyone who contributed and threw the sponges, and thank you to the staff who were prepared to get wet!
Thank you also to our PE team and dedicated students who represented the school again this week on extra curricular competitions across the Island.
We have had much to celebrate over the last five weeks as we make progress on our continuing school improvement journey. I would like to acknowledge how well the vast majority of students have adjusted to our expectations. The school feels positive and ready for the next stage, which was shared with you earlier this week. As mentioned, the students had this message delivered to them in assembly and are ready and prepared for the final half term of this academic year.
I hope you enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend and we look forward to seeing the students back in school on Monday 2 June.
