We enjoyed welcoming our new Year 7 parents/carers into school on Wednesday afternoon. It was lovely to meet so many of you and hear from the tutors about how well all the students are settling in. Please do remember that you do not have to wait for one of these evenings to contact your child's tutor or let us know if there is anything that you think would be beneficial for us to know. Working in partnership is the most supportive and productive way forward for the young people.
It has been another busy week in school. We welcomed the photographers in on Monday to take up-to-date photos of the students. These will be available for you to buy over the coming weeks. Year 7 students have been taking part in their CATs tests this week. These are really valuable in helping us assess the best ways of learning for your child. The students have been positive and approached these with maturity.
Students are enjoying their renewed focus on learning and have been pleased to tell me how useful they have found the assemblies that Mrs Pitman delivered last week about how we learn. This will support students in understanding the approach that staff are adopting in their lessons and enhance their learning as we work together. Students and staff are finding the new pastoral hub spaces very supportive with a more bespoke approach being offered this year.
Next week we look forward to welcoming prospective Year 6 into 7 students to our Open Evening and showcasing what we have to offer at Medina College,
I hope you have an enjoyable weekend.
