You will have received a letter from us recently outlining our vision, values, and a reminder of our expectations. Thank you for your continued support with these messages - as we said, we are stronger together.
This week has been a busy one, with a range of activities and events taking place across the school.
Our local Neighbourhood Policing link visited to offer a drop-in service for students who wished to talk or ask questions. We are delighted to announce that this will now become a regular opportunity within our school community, which we know will be extremely valuable.
On Wednesday, we welcomed The Riot Act theatre group to deliver a special road safety assembly for Year 7. The group provides creative, bespoke interventions for young people, using engaging and relevant approaches to inspire positive behavioural change.
Remembrance assemblies have also been held for each year group ahead of Remembrance Day on Tuesday. On Armistice Day, Tuesday 11th November, we will come together as a school community to observe a two-minute silence, reflecting on the service and sacrifices made by the Armed Forces on our behalf. We thank students in advance for the respect they will show during this important moment.
Our Year 11 students have begun their first set of trial exams for the academic year, ahead of their summer exams. These are conducted under full exam conditions to ensure that students are well-prepared for what to expect. If any student has concerns, they are encouraged to speak with a member of the exams team, their tutor, or the Student Hub.
Please can we remind all parents/carers that laser pens are a banned item in school under Health and Safety. Any laser pen that is seen will be confiscated and the parent/carer will need to collect it - it will not be given back to the student. Thank you for your cooperation.
We hope you have a restful weekend and look forward to welcoming students back to school on Monday morning. A reminder that we offer both free and paid breakfast options every day before school.
