Welcome to the penultimate newsletter of this half-term – it hardly seems possible that we are already approaching the end of the spring term!
We would like to begin by thanking our PE staff and the Year 8 students who took part in the Secondary School Athletics Championships this week. We were proud to host schools from across the Island, and our students represented themselves and the school superbly.
This week, our Year 9 students received the second of three assemblies focused on the KS4 pathways process. The assembly explored the Creative and Technology subjects available to them as they begin to look ahead to Year 10.
Next Wednesday, we look forward to welcoming Year 11 parents and carers to Parents’ Evening. This is a vital opportunity to gain a clear understanding of how your child is currently working, identify the small steps needed to make further progress, and discuss the additional support available beyond timetabled lessons. If you have not yet booked your appointments, please do so via the Arbor app. If you experience any difficulties doing this, please do contact the main school reception, who can assist with this.
This week, we have also been celebrating attendance. Well done to all students who have achieved or are working towards another impressive attendance streak. Our 60-day streak badges will be awarded next week!
Next week’s assemblies will focus on neurodiversity, and our values theme will once again be courage - courage isn’t about never being scared; it’s about trying your best even when you are.
Finally, next Friday marks the final day of the first spring half-term. Please remember that Monday, 23 February, is a Staff Development Day, so students will return to school on Tuesday, 24 February.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
