Year 7 Trip to Tapnell Aquapark and Football Golf

Year 7 attended their rewards trip to Tapnell Aqua park and Football Golf on Tuesday. This was a reward for all their hard work and good behaviour throughout the year.

We found we had quite a few secret adrenaline junkies in the year group as they leapt off the top and jumped into the water. The smiles as they ran the inflatable gauntlet and ninja-style activities ran from ear to ear.It was a pleasure to watch and hear all the laughter. The students were an absolute credit to us throughout the day and represented the school beautifully.

They demonstrated teamwork and initiative as they navigated each part of the course. It was lovely to see students in a new environment and with different mixes than their normal peers. It was lovely to see students who were apprehensive but willing to try and push themselves and give it a go anyway and if one way didn't work, not being phased, laughing it off and trying something new until they made it across.

Many surprised us with their no-fear attitude towards the activities. It was lovely to see them encouraging the more nervous to take part (including the staff) and helping them complete the different parts of the course. The students most certainly made the most of being able to push all their teachers into the water at every opportunity with no fear of a BFL point.

After the Aqua park, they got into groups and ventured down to play Football Golf. There was definitely a bit of creative cheating and distraction techniques to get the ball through the obstacles and into the hole in the minimal number of tries.

It was all good fun and, even when the weather turned unexpectedly, they played through in good spirits and did not let this spoil their day. Upon returning to school, they went to the sports hall and had the choice of sports and settled on dodgeball and football.

Thank you, Year 7, for a fantastic, fun-filled day!
