World Mental Health Day 2025

Medina College Marks World Mental Health Day with #HelloYellow Campaign and Inspiring Guest Speaker
On Friday 10 October, Medina College took part in World Mental Health Day by hosting a non-uniform day with a vibrant yellow theme to support the fantastic charity Young Minds. This event was part of the national #HelloYellow campaign, where thousands of schools and organisations across the country wore yellow to show their support for young people's mental health.
Thanks to the generous contributions from students, parents and staff, we raised an impressive £474.82 for Young Minds — a big thank you to everyone who donated!
To mark the occasion further, we were honoured to welcome The Honourable Dr Stuart Lawrence to speak to our students. Dr Lawrence is an author, educator, and passionate advocate for young people. In his talk, he shared his personal experiences, insights from his books, and motivational messages about resilience, purpose and making a positive difference in the world. One memorable message he shared was:
"Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard."
At Medina College, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our students is a priority every day. However, World Mental Health Day provided a valuable opportunity to shine a spotlight on this crucial issue and come together as a community to show that no one is alone.
